Instructor Certificate COURSE

The Instructor Certification Course is an intermediate-level course that builds on the concepts of Deep End Fitness. Completion of the Instructor Certification Course demonstrates mastering instruction and delivery of: aquatic safety, risk management, program design, movement, mindset, breath work, and water confidence training.

INSIDE THE COURSE

Through the Instructor Certificate Course, you will learn:

  • To ensure the safety of each athlete under your supervision

  • To apply our training and movement standards

  • To design and carry out sound training plans to promote mental and physical growth

  • To uphold the Deep End Fitness Culture and Ethos

  • To teach and incorporate our Deep End Fitness training methodology and principles of Focus, Relaxation, Economy of Motion, and Efficient Breathing (FREE) into your training plans

CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION

You will receive our Deep End Fitness Instructor Manual, covering together: safety standards, understanding the body’s response to working out in and out of the water, the DEF 4 Systems (movement, breath work, mindset, and water confidence), program design, movement corrections, and DEF principles and their applications.

POOL BREAKOUT SESSIONS

We will run through aquatic safety and risk management protocols at the pool, group breath work, opening circle best practices, the introductory screener, and practice aquatic fitness programming.

PRACTICAL PROGRAMMING

You will ultimately design your own workout based on the athlete profiles provided to you on the day of training. This practical will allow you to apply all the principles and concepts taught in the training and receive feedback on areas to focus on for growth.

Skills development

Recommended to be able to complete the following (not necessary, we’ll help you train):

  • 300m swim < 6min

  • (2) 25m underwater crossovers <80sec

  • 50m 10lb brick tow

  • 5min continuous bobs in 12-ft deep end
